SAN FRANCISCO, June 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Digital Media tools maker Tribeworks (OTCBB:TRWX) today announced a dramatic change to the pricing of its flagship product, iShell.
Tribeworks is now offering a "just-buy-it" option, which allows developers to purchase iShell 3 for $495 per copy. Until now, iShell has only been available as a yearly subscription, which includes software and support. The minimum costs of ownership for an annual license was previously $975 per year with a renewal rate of $750. Tribeworks also announced a price reduction to its entry level annual service and support package, "Silver Membership," from $975 per year to $895 per year, and a price increase in its top tier support package "Gold Membership," from $2,750 to $2,995.
"As more customers understand the productivity advantage of iShell, we realize that we need a pricing structure which closely aligns with our competitors." said Duncan Kennedy, CEO of Tribeworks. Tribeworks also sells annual service and support packages, called Memberships, which include software upgrades and different levels of support. Silver Memberships are $895, with a renewal fee of $695. Gold Memberships are $2,995 for the first year with a $1,500 renewal fee.
