STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 1, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Song Networks Svenska AB (Other OTC:SONWF) has signed an agreement with The National Tax Board (Riksskatteverket) for the supply of data communication. 80 offices throughout the country will be connected through Song Networks' IP VPN service. The National Tax Board has had high demands on accessibility and bandwidth and chose after a test period Song Networks as supplier. The agreement extends over three years and has a value of approximately SEK 50 million.
"The agreement with The National Tax Board is our largest within IP NVP up to now. This in combination with that The National Tax Board is an exiting customer in itself makes us very pleased today," said Mats Almgren, Sales and Marketing Director of Song Networks Svenska AB.
The offices are connected through bandwidths in between 10-100 Mbit/s. Furthermore the head office in Solna is connected with a redundant connection on 2 Gbit/s. In addition to the high capacity The National Tax Board also gets access to the different added services such as 'Quality of service', that gives a possibility to prioritise the data traffic within the network and also various types of statistic services.
"It feels like we have made a choice for the future. With a solution where we can expand the capacity or add up new services opens up new possibilities, for example IP telephony," said Kjell Kallberg, Manager of the Communication program at The National Tax Board.
The decision to choose Song Networks was made after a test period of one month during which Song Networks connected offices in four localities.
