Statement from OM Regarding eSpeed Lawsuit

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 2, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Broker Tec USA, Broker Tec Global, its parent ICAP, Garban, OM Technology, and the parent company OM AB (Other OTC:OMGPF) have been sued by eSpeed regarding alleged infringement of U.S. patent 6,560,580 B1. OM has been sued in connection with its delivery of software specially made for BrokerTec, a U.S. electronic fixed income marketplace.

OM rejects the lawsuit, denies any wrongdoing, and will vigorously defend itself against the allegations made in this lawsuit. No OM product infringes eSpeed's patent.

The alleged patent infringement is directed to custom-made functionality that is unique to BrokerTec and that does not exist in any other solution that OM has provided to any other customer. The lawsuit is therefore not applicable to, nor can it affect or harm any other OM customer.
