STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 21, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Friday July 18, saw record volumes in the trading of derivatives at Stockholmsborsen. The number of traded contracts amounted to 1 067 657, which is the highest number of contracts ever traded at Stockholmsborsen and an increase of the previous record by 56 per cent. The previous record number of traded contracts amounted to 686 781 on June 15, 2001.
The value of the equity trading on July 18 amounted to SEK 20.7 billion, which represents the highest daily value so far during 2003.
