ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla., Aug 6, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The World Golf League, Inc. (OTCBB:WGFL) announced today that it is launching a dedicated telemarketing campaign to over 4 million pre-qualified golfers. The campaign will be managed by Global Sports Marketing, LLC of Orlando, Florida, and executed by American Leisure Marketing & Technology of Tamarac, Florida, a subsidiary of American Leisure Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:AMLH)
The new campaign will offer the WGL Premier Membership Card, which provides the member with discounts at over 2,500 golf courses worldwide, and several other travel and retail golf discounts. The program will be offered at $9.95 per month automatically billed to the member's credit card until such time as the member chooses to cancel. Additionally, the WGL will offer an up-sell to its competition membership for $105, which allows the member to compete in a one-day qualifier and a chance to advance to the National Finals. The program has been tested for the last 18 months using a test base of 400,000 golfers and has produced very impressive results. The WGL anticipates gaining 8,000 members per month with 50% purchasing both plans. This will equate to over $11M per year gross revenue with over $6M going to the bottom line after consideration for a 20% monthly cancellation rate. The telemarketing program has been prepaid for the first three months and is scheduled to begin the last week of August 2003.
"We are very excited about this program and the strength of this marketing channel," said Mike Pagnano, CEO of The WGL. "We do not anticipate any negative impact from the effects of the new FTC regulations and expect this program to produce a steady stream of monthly cash flow estimated at over $900,000 per month, unlike our traditional membership revenues, which is seasonal. The WGL also anticipates doubling the size of the Telemarketing effort within one year."
The World Golf League markets a professional golf concept, directly and through licensees in the USA and 27 international venues, which allow average golfers to play for substantial prize money in local and regional tournaments culminating with a PGA-style national event and world championship.
