Millennium Chemicals Announces Price Increases for Vinyl Acetate Monomer


HUNT VALLEY, Md, Sept. 15, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Millennium Chemicals (NYSE:MCH) ("Millennium") announced today the following price increases for vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) effective October 1, 2003:



 Central
  & South America:      VAM -- US $75/metric ton
                        As previously announced for September 1, 2003


 Asia:                  VAM -- US $75/metric ton
                        As previously announced for September 1, 2003


 Turkey, Africa
  & the Middle East:    VAM - US $50/metric ton
                        In addition to the increases announced
                        for September 1, 2003


 Europe (T2 material):  VAM - Euro 50/metric ton
                        As previously announced for September 1, 2003


 US & Canada:           VAM -- US $0.03/lb
