RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 25, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- HydroFlo, Inc. (OTCBB:HYRF) today announced that it has expanded the scope of treatment at the Carolina Water Service site in Harrisburg, North Carolina.
"We are pleased to continue working with Carolina Water Service and providing services and upgrades to their treatment needs as necessary, as well as being viewed as an innovative solutions provider and expanding our business activities into additional markets. The positive results and expansion of the scope of treatment in this instance should provide greater opportunities for HydroFlo, and we look forward to sharing the next steps of Company growth with our shareholders," said Dennis Mast, CEO of HydroFlo.
Testing of the performance since the expansion indicates that sulfide levels at discharge are less than .25 part per million (ppm) and that dissolved oxygen levels are between 1 and 2.5 ppm. The workers have also noted a decrease in odor at the treatment plant.
The PLUS system was originally installed at the Harrisburg site in September 2003 to provide pre-treatment and odor control at the pumping station. Results of testing conducted since installation show that the system has provided the desired results. The recently performed system expansion provides pre-treatment in the entire force-main line from the pumping station to the wastewater treatment plant and odor control at the discharge point into the plant.
Carolina Water Service owns and/or operates wastewater conveyance systems and treatment plants for cities and municipalities throughout the eastern United States. Use of the HydroFlo PLUS System at the Harrisburg facility will provide Carolina Water Service with the ability to control odor and corrosion not only at the lift stations but also in the pipeline systems connecting to the treatment plants, without having to use costly chemicals.
