Calypso Wireless Files an Application to Become Listed on The American Stock Exchange

MIAMI LAKES, Fla., March 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Calypso Wireless, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CLYW) announced today it has filed an application to become listed on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX). Calypso Wireless believes it now meets all of the quantitative and qualitative listing requirements of AMEX. The company also believes that the specialist-based system promotes liquidity and narrower spreads, decreases volatility and provides the stock with additional protection against short selling. Calypso Wireless is looking forward to working with AMEX to obtain the listing as quickly as possible.

Calypso Wireless is the company behind the revolutionary ASNAP(tm) technology for which it was recently granted U.S. Patent No. 6,680,923 titled "Communication system and method," which covers the seamless roaming of voice, video and data between Wide Area Network access points, such as cellular towers (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, CDMA, WCMDA, etc.) and short-range Internet access points (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.).

Calypso Wireless' technology should significantly accelerate the overall wireless broadband deployment and create new profit centers for the telecommunications industry. By teaming up with Calypso Wireless, OEMs will now be able to manufacture and market such devices and dramatically boost their sales.

Mobile carriers such as Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) can increase the number of subscribers without having to increase cellular capacity, free up cellular spectrum, increase capacity and coverage, add more revenue producing services such as the real-time video conferencing, reduce dropped calls, improve quality of service, and locate mobile users by IP address, as the E911 mandates. In other words, global connectivity of voice, video and data will be done through the most efficient connection point, at a lower cost to both the mobile operator and the consumer.

Calypso's technology anticipates a new profit center for cable companies such as Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) providing broadband Internet access to cellular phones and other mobile devices. The cable company will route the connection to the user's mobile carrier's network, deriving additional roaming charges as compensation from mobile carriers for facilitating voice, data and real time video conferencing through the Wi-Fi Access Point. The cable company will also be able to offer value added service to its customers regardless of where they connect. When exiting the Wi-Fi zone, the connection seamlessly switches to the cellular tower.

Calypso Wireless is a publicly traded company. Its common stock trades under the ticker symbol CLYW. For more information about Calypso Wireless and its products and services, please visit the company's Web site at www.calypsowireless.com.
