ATLANTA, March 29, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- CES International, a developer of operations and network-management software for the utility industry, has named Michael J. Melander vice president of professional services.
Melander joins CES International from Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution. During his more than 12 years with Siemens, Melander served in a variety of leadership roles in the company's Energy Management and Information Systems Division.
Melander will report to Walter Kalsow, CES International's executive vice president of development and professional services.
"Michael brings from Siemens a significant track record in project management," Kalsow said. "His experience in managing projects, implementing complex software solutions, and in managing customer expectations will help us continue to grow our professional services organization and, most importantly, deliver superior service to our customers."
While at Siemens, Melander served in a number of roles surrounding the management and delivery of integrated hardware and software systems for the company's energy-management business. His responsibilities included not only project management, but also budget and team oversight for multiple project managers.
Melander began his career as an electrical engineer with Commonwealth Edison Co. His educational background includes two master's degrees in business administration and electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
