In less than six months it will be time for one of the Sweden's major sporting events of the year -- World Cup of Hockey -- where all the top ice hockey stars will be appearing to play for their national teams. Vodafone Swedens's customers can already now look forward to seeing moving pictures of all the goals and highlights directly in their Vodafone live! mobile phones, as well as getting the latest results and a wealth of other information from the tournament.
Vodafone Sweden is one of the top sponsors behind the games in Stockholm Globe Arena; Sweden vs. Germany on the 31st of August and Sweden vs. Czech Republic on the 1st of September. The sponsorship deal means among other things that Vodafone will be providing Vodafone live! customers with mobile information throughout the tournament. Vodafone has exclusive rights to show goals and highlights in moving pictures, and Vodafone customers will also be able to access match reports, team pictures, results, interviews and much more - all directly on their mobile phones.

The World Cup of Hockey 2004 tournament takes place in Europe and North America from August 30 to September 14. Czech Republic, Finland, Germany and Sweden will compete in the European Pool, while Canada, Russia, Slovakia and the defending World Cup champion United States will play in the North American Pool. The World Cup of Hockey 2004 is a joint venture between the NHLPA and NHL, in cooperation with the IIHF.
