CHARLESTON, S.C., April 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRCP) announced that its TSG subsidiary has delivered a unique version of its Buffalo vehicle to a US customer. The Buffalo platform was utilized to create a very specialized vehicle for an undisclosed mission. The Buffalo is the only vehicle of suitable size that provides the extreme level of protection desired by the customer.
"This is a terrific demonstration of the versatility of our vehicles," said Michael Watts, Force Protection's CEO. "I don't believe there is any other vehicle in the world that could meet all the requirements of this job. Yet we were able to meet the customer's needs quickly by modifying our proven Buffalo design. I'm proud of our customer and I'm proud of our people's response to their needs. We look forward to more of this type of work and we are committed to making ourselves even more responsive to our customers' special needs. To this end, we are adding engineers, changing our organization somewhat, and investing in more advanced computer systems."
The customer has indicated that they have an interest in ordering additional units. The customer has also expressed interest in TSG's ViewPort technology, which replaces glass windows with video screens and cameras.
Due to the sensitive nature of the mission, no other details are available for release at this time.
