The Kemira Group's water treatment chemicals company Kemipol in Police, Poland, has acquired the water treatment chemicals business of the Polish company Zlotniki, located in Wroclav. Zlotniki's product range includes products for both potable and waste water treatment, e.g. aluminium sulphate, polyaluminium chloride, and various compound chemicals.
- Poland is the main market area for Zlotniki's products, but also the neighbouring countries are a natural market area where further growth is expected as a result of this acquisition. The deal will be in support of Kemira's goal to enhance our competitive position within the enlarged European Union, says Dorota Jasina, Managing Director, Kemipol.
Through this acquisition Kemipol will be in a position to supply its customers a full range of water treatment chemicals, while also enforcing the company's position in the development of new products, processes and applications. The deal will also secure continued operation in Zlotniki's Wroclaw unit. The net sales of Zlotniki's water treatment chemicals business total approx. EUR five million per year.
Kemira's net sales of water treatment chemicals total approx. EUR 270 million, and the branch employs a personnel of about 1,000 persons in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Kemipol supplies its customers a complete solution for water treatment, including sludge handling.
