VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 18, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- VoIP MDU.COM (Pink Sheets:VPMD) today announced that at the end of May 2004, it will launch its state-of-the-art Softphone Program to over 250,000 active members from a major North American company's database, offering unlimited worldwide telephone calling for just $14.95 USD per month.
VoIP MDU.COM's Softphone software is similar to Viper Network's vPhone, which will allow users to download the required technology from the Company's website (now under construction), hooking up their computer to VoIP technology. The monthly subscriber rate will be $14.95 USD per month for the basic service. The Company will enhance revenue levels with additional available features such as inbound/outbound lines ($19.95 USD per month) and a complete voice/video/data package at $29.95 USD per month. VoIP MDU.COM will also achieve additional revenue from the sale of long distance bundles and prepaid telephone cards to this captive market.
The Company expects to convert 20% of this active database to provide initial revenue streams averaging over $750,000 USD per month as a minimal base, (20% of present membership = 50,000 members @ $14.95 each per month) without taking into account any of the other added value product features.
VoIP MDU.COM's Softphone Program will provide free telephone calling to other Softphone users from PC to PC or PDA's using a USB headset or handset. Subscribers will be able to connect with any PC or laptop, with the option to upgrade to a gateway or IP telephone for all of their personal or business telephone calls. And for Softphone users calling regular telephone numbers anywhere in the world, the Company offers long distance discount bundles for savings up to 70%.
"The combination of unlimited calling at the low monthly subscriber cost of only $14.95 a month provides an extremely attractive method for consumers and business owners to tap into the latest trend of communications technology and save considerable money at the same time," commented Richard Kipping, CEO and President of VoIP MDU.COM. The Company plans on offering its Softphone Program to several other major North American companies with large databases of subscribers in the coming months, as well as online through its corporate website. Further announcements will be made as they develop.
