Intrepid Completes First Phase of Energy Plant

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, May 25, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Intrepid Technology and Resources, Inc. (ITR) (OTCBB:IESV), a renewable energy company, has completed the first construction phase of their anaerobic digestion facility, bio-refinery, near Rupert, Idaho.

The "mix tanks" concrete work has been finished by Cannon Builders, the general contractor, and the multiple 35,000-gallon digester tanks have been ordered from Premier Technology, a specialized steel fabricator. The first two tanks will be delivered on-site in early to mid July. The pre-fabricated enclosing structure will be delayed by 10 to 14 days due to the unique size requirements, however ITR will commence the initial mixing operations without that building which will allow the refining operation to begin on schedule.

ITR anticipates that gas production from the first two tanks will come on-line by late September. The production rate with the full six-tank array is expected to exceed 70 cf. of commercial grade Methane gas per minute or the energy equivalent of 800 gallons of regular grade gasoline per day.

ITR is employing a unique and revolutionary technology in their first biogas refinery that will produce gas with at least 80% methane content. ITR knows of no other commercial digestion system that can produce such an elevated energy content gas.

In addition to being a commercially viable energy production system, the facility will serve as a demonstration and test platform for federal, commercial and educational entities wishing to utilize a portion of the plant. ITR anticipates that these capabilities will provide a considerable additional financial benefit.
