Share trading

The average value of share trading per business day amounted to EUR 1,964 million (during the past 12-month period: EUR 2,101 million). The average number of trades per business day was 52,745 (during the past 12- month period: 46,830).

The turnover velocity was 121%.

Derivative trading

Average derivative trading volume in Swedish and Finnish equity and fixed-income products amounted to 461,952 contracts (during the past 12- month period: 437,162) per business day. The average number of traded contracts in equity derivative products amounted to 433,399 contracts (during the past 12-month period: 410,314 contracts) per business day, while the average number of contracts in fixed-income derivative products amounted to 28,553 contracts (during the past 12-month period: 26,848 contracts) per business day.

The total premium value for stock options amounted to EUR 5.0 million (during the past 12-month period EUR 5.8 million) per day.

Covered warrant trading

The average value of covered warrant trading per business day amounted to EUR 5.0 million (during the past 12-month period: EUR 6.8 million).

Index development

During May the OMX index decreased by 1.7%, the HEX25 index decreased by 3.1%, the TALSE index decreased by 2.5%, and the RICI index increased by 1.7%.

List changes

Shares

Total market value of all listed companies amounted to EUR 414 billion on May 31 (May 30, 2003: EUR 349 billion.) During May, 2 companies were listed on Stockholmsborsen and 1 company was delisted and 2 companies were delisted from HEX Helsinki. On HEX Riga 1 company was listed and 1 company was delisted during May. The total number of listed companies is 466, of which 278 companies are listed on Stockholmsborsen, 138 on HEX Helsinki, 14 on HEX Tallinn and 36 on HEX Riga.

Note: This report comprises statistics on Stockholmsborsen, HEX Helsinki, HEX Tallinn and HEX Riga. The reported figures pertain to all the four exchanges, unless otherwise stated.

Bonds

The total number of listed bonds is 1,787 of which 1,501 on Stockholmsborsen, 260 on HEX Helsinki, 3 on HEX Tallinn and 23 on HEX Riga. In May, 50 new bonds were registered on Stockholmsborsen and 30 bonds were delisted. On HEX Helsinki 5 new bonds were registered, while 10 were delisted. On HEX Riga 1 bond was delisted.

Covered Warrants

The total number of listed covered warrants is 1,809, of which 1,514 on Stockholmsborsen and 295 on HEX Helsinki. In May, 141 new covered warrants were listed on Stockholmsborsen and 35 were delisted. At HEX Helsinki 39 new covered warrants were listed and 20 were delisted.

Market Surveillance

In May, Stockholmsborsen referred one matter of suspected insider trading to the Financial Supervisory Authority. Two companies were placed on the Observation Segment of the O list during the month. A company that was placed on the Observation Segment of the O list in December due to its unstable financial situation, was transferred to its ordinary position on the O list in May. The uncertainty that was the basis for transferring the shares to the Observation segment no longer exists.

In HEX Tallinn the Supervisory Committee fined three companies in May.
