Globix Corporation Chosen by National Consortium to Deliver Global Web Stream for High Definition Television Political Convention Coverage

Globix to Provide Convenient Links for Web Streaming of HDTV 2004 Pool Coverage from New York and Boston Venues

NEW YORK, June 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Globix Corporation's (OTCBB:GBXX) Government Services Division announced today that it has been chosen by the High Definition National News Consortium (HD-NNC) to provide Web streaming for the high definition broadcast pool coverage of the 2004 Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Globix will provide links for NHK's pool feeds of the Democratic National Convention in Boston (from July 26 to July 29) and the Republican National Convention in New York City (from August 30 to September 2). The signals will be encoded onsite, using Globix's extensive, state-of-the-art mobile broadcast facilities, and then sent out to the Globix worldwide network using its proprietary Earthcache(c) Streaming Technology.

"We are pleased to be able to provide this service to those clients and partners that wish to offer coverage of the conventions through their own websites," stated Ed Warner, General Manager of Media Services for Globix. "Globix is addressing all of the technical complexities required to provide this media content. Now all our clients and partners need to do is simply link to it."

As viewers across the world access the stream through participating websites with Windows(tm) Media Player, a consistent 16:9 aspect ratio will maintain the feel of the original HDTV.

"We are very excited to be chosen by HD-NNC as the web provider for these important events," stated Pete Stevenson, Chief Executive Officer for Globix. "We continue to see the Internet providing a valuable method of global communications for America's two major political parties."

NHK-Japan Broadcasting Corporation was recently named as the producer of the high-definition television (HDTV) coverage of this summer's 2004 Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

HD-NNC (www.hd-nnc.org, available from mid-June) is an association of approximately 40 broadcasters, media producers and others advancing the use of digital, high-definition, and/or a wide-screen format for newsgathering and news programming in the United States.
