ATLANTA, June 30, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Harland Financial Solutions, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of John H. Harland Company (NYSE:JH), announced today that First State Bank of Thermopolis, in Thermopolis, Wyoming, has selected the SPARAK(R) System for its core bank processing needs.
Chartered in 1978, First State Bank of Thermopolis (FSB Thermopolis) has assets of over $55 million and is the only locally owned bank serving Hot Springs County, Wyoming.
According to Vivian Butchart, vice president and cashier of FSB Thermopolis, "Everyone here is very excited about making the switch to the SPARAK System."
FSB Thermopolis carefully considered five core system providers in its selection process. In the end there were a number of factors, including the SPARAK System's advanced integration, its user friendliness and the people at Harland Financial Solutions, which all affected their decision to select the SPARAK System.
The bank has an existing track record of success using other products from Harland Financial Solutions, including the popular DepositPro(R) and LaserPro(R) compliant deposit and loan origination solutions. "When searching for a new core processor, Harland Financial Solutions' high level of product integration made sense to us. This integration, along with the great people we dealt with at Harland Financial Solutions, put the SPARAK System on the top of our list," explained Butchart. FSB Thermopolis also plans to integrate Harland Financial Solutions powerful ARC Image(TM) document imaging solution.
"We are delighted that First State Bank of Thermopolis has selected the SPARAK System," commented Bill Zayas, senior vice president and general manager of Harland Financial Solutions' Bank Core Systems Group. "Our focus is squarely on meeting the needs of the community bank market. We believe the staff at FSB Thermopolis clearly appreciates the value of this focus, as well as the personalized service and advanced technology we provide."
