VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada, Aug. 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Stafford Energy, Inc., ("Stafford") (Pink Sheets:SFDE), is very pleased to announce that its subsidiary Abucco Technologies Inc. ("Abucco") has received its first order for a washroom facility monitoring and control system from The Corporation of Delta ("Corporation").
Mr. Jim Levin, Parks Development & Operations Manager for The Corporation of Delta commented, "We have spent approximately $120,000 CAD over the last year in repairing and replacing damaged property in our parks caused by vandals. This is not a small sum of money and we are being proactive in putting in the Abucco system to help us in reducing the amount of damage that vandals cause in our parks today. Ultimately it is the tax payer that foots the bill and we are taking a big step towards minimizing this cost to the community."
Abucco will be installing the first system at Memorial Park in South Delta. This first system will be thoroughly tested by the Corporation and upon acceptance of the installation, it is anticipated that Abucco will automate every washroom facility in the municipality. In addition, numerous outbuildings in Delta are also under consideration for system installations by the Corporation.
The system being installed will automatically control the access to washroom facilities by locking and unlocking the doors on a scheduled basis, every day of the year. This feature will replace the now manual task of someone unlocking every door and then locking them again at night for every facility. In addition, the system will also monitor for intrusion and motion as well as providing an immediate notification link to on-call personnel 24 hours a day, who can react by notifying the proper authorities such as police and fire as needed. Lastly, control of the lighting in addition to other failsafe features will also be provided. Once all of the washrooms have been automated, they will all be linked to a centralized monitoring system for a "one stop overview", of all monitored facilities.
Richard Connors, President of Stafford commented, "Although not a very glamorous area for conducting business, our systems will provide a much needed facility requirement and upon proving the product for this application, there are already a number of other municipalities and cities who have inquired about automating their facilities as well. The potential in this one area is huge and our people are looking forward to not only meeting, but exceeding the expectations of The Corporation of Delta."
Abucco, a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Stafford is in the business of high technology security, access and telemetry monitoring and control over the Internet and wireless networks. For more information about Abucco, please see Abucco's website at www.abucco.com.
