(OTCBB:WGFL) announced today that it has closed a $2.5 Million wholesale membership contract with Upwon LLC of Orlando, Florida. Upwon is a marketing promotions firm specializing in the retail consumer electronics industry. Upwon plans to use the memberships as promotional giveaways in conjunction with purchases of certain consumer electronic brands at major national retail outlets. The program will last 12 months and Upwon will ultimately give away 50,000 WGL memberships for redemption.
"This is a breakthrough contract for The WGL Inc. that allows us to realize 50,000 new members over the next 12 months and a steady revenue stream from the highly profitable wholesale channel," said Mike Pagnano, CEO The WGL, Inc. "We expect to sell half of the memberships or 25,000 during the fourth quarter 2004 holiday season, when consumer electronic sales are at their highest," Mr. Pagnano went on to say.
The WGL markets a professional golf concept in the USA and 27 international venues, which allows average golfers to play for substantial prize money in local and regional tournaments culminating with a PGA-style national event and world championship.
