STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Vodafone Sweden's young customers can finally cut their cords and say goodbye to fixed telephony. Vodafone Sweden's private customers under 26 can as of today make calls to the fixed telephony network from their mobiles at the record price of just SEK 0.10 per minute. This price applies evenings and weekends and is available as part of Vodafone's Mitt Val subscription.
This means that using your mobile phone to make calls to the fixed network at these times will cost the same as calling from a regular fixed phone.
All customers under 26 who sign a Mitt Val subscription with Vodafone can make fixed network calls for only SEK 0.10/minute evenings and weekends (there is a start-up fee of SEK 0.50) at no extra monthly fee. Customers also get 25 SMS/month to send free of charge and they can choose five telephone numbers for making 25 per cent cheaper calls regardless of network or time of day.
Customers who are over 26 can also feel young again and take advantage of this offer by selecting it as an additional service in their Mitt Val subscription for a monthly fee of just SEK 50.
"As opposed to many of our competitors, we offer wireless communication exclusively. We are therefore glad to be able to give our customers all the freedom, availability and diversity of mobile telephony at rates that are in line with the fixed network," says Paul Moonga, Director of Consumer Market, Vodafone Sweden. "What's more, using only the mobile means not having to pay moving, installation or subscription fees that accompany fixed telephony which makes the offer even more attractive."
The price of SEK 0.10 per minute applies to calls made evenings (19.00-07.00) and weekends (Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays) to the fixed telephony network. Otherwise regular Mitt Val prices and terms and conditions apply. Please visit www.vodafone.se for more details.
