New Partnership Expands Imagis Sales Opportunities to Hundreds of Justice Agencies

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 18, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Imagis Technologies Inc. ("Imagis") (OTCBB:IMTIF) (TSX Venture Exchange:WSI) (DE:IGYA) today announces it has entered into a new strategic business partnership with Compudyne's Public Safety and Justice Unit, Tiburon Inc., of Fremont, CA. Under this partnership agreement, Tiburon will resell and act as systems integrator of Imagis' web-services, data sharing Briyante Integration Environment (BIE) to its new and existing customers.

Tiburon is an industry-leading provider of automated public safety and justice systems to meet the demanding and complex needs of law enforcement, fire & rescue, corrections and justice environments. With over 350 systems installed worldwide, the demand for critical data sharing from these public safety and justice agencies is high.

Tiburon has purchased five BIE development licenses and three weeks of training from Imagis. This will enable Tiburon sales representatives and pre-sales engineers to create marketing initiatives and generate sales of Imagis products. "We are very excited about this business arrangement with Imagis Technologies," said Dan Crawford, President and CEO of CompuDyne's Public Safety and Justice unit. "The public safety and justice market demands an affordable and flexible data sharing capability.

"We're extremely pleased to be working with a company of Tiburon's stature and reputation, and excited about both the partnership and range of projects in the opportunity pipeline," said Roy Trivett, CEO of Imagis Technologies. "Tiburon's choice of BIE validates the long-term technical and economical benefits of our technology, and the fact that application vendors can accelerate their time to market by partnering with Imagis rather than building proprietary integration solutions.

"Tiburon's positioning and relationships with key customers, and the strong reputation of their product solutions in the public safety and justice community, will accelerate the wider adoption of BIE as a platform for information sharing," Trivett concluded.

The Imagis technology facilitates interoperability and information sharing while still allowing participants to maintain control of their own data, a critical requirement in an environment characterized by tight regulations and laws surrounding access to information and privacy. The result is a standards-based web services solution in a Services Oriented Architecture that can easily interoperate with the various and diverse database technologies deployed by justice agencies around the world. Imagis data integration solutions are already providing information sharing benefits to several large police jurisdictions in the United States, including King County, Washington and Contra Costa County, California.

The advantages of Imagis solutions are being realized by more organizations, not only those involved in the justice sector, but those with a need to share information, interoperate disparate systems, and who need to migrate precious data and business intelligence to newer, more standards-based platforms. The company has an excellent reputation for successful deployments and satisfied customers, and is looking toward a bright future as it expands its offerings to other markets.
