BALTIMORE, Jan. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- View Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VYST), a front line security and surveillance company, today announced the sale and training of a Visual First Responder to the 5th Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team, (CST) in Illinois. The 5th CST, which consists of 22 members, is one of 32 CST units in the United States.
The 32 civil support teams are trained and equipped to detect chemical, biological, nuclear and explosive agents to support emergency first responders. Congress has recently approved $88 Million in funding to train and equip eleven additional units to better serve the Department of Homeland Security. The Department of Defense has stated their goal is to field a total of 55 Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams.
"The Illinois WMD Civil Support Team is now the 7th unit to own a Visual First Responder," stated Dave Johansen, Homeland Defense Product Manager for View Systems. "The VFR is generating exciting sales for us. In 2005, we hope to reach all civil support teams and units. This, in addition to partnering with distribution giants, and a documentary airing on television, will translate into what we expect to be our greatest year ever."
The Visual First Responder sold to the 5Th CST includes the latest technology. Their VFR was built to provide 360 degree surrounding coverage of a target area by implementing an innovative multi-receiver setup and a remote channel switching system.
