Ekwan-X Announces Appointment of Nevada Project Team


TORONTO, Jan. 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ekwan-X, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EKWX) is very pleased to announce the appointment of the project team for the data compilation for its large-scale mineral exploration program planned for the State of Nevada.

Arunus Kalinauskas (BSc. Physics) is a specialist in the science of spectroscopy and Hyperspectral Remote Sensing. Mr. Kalinauskas has spent many years doing scientific research with the Canadian Space Agency and the Canadian Center for Remote Sensing. These agencies are world leaders in the field of Hyperspectral Technology. Mr. Kalinauskas is presently in charge of remote sensing for R.J. Burnside Associates and is vice-president director of technology for Ekwan Technology. Mr. Kalinauskas will be responsible for operating the Hyperspectral instruments and overseeing the data collection process.

Steve Marinkovich (BASc. P.Eng.) is a computer industry veteran with over 15 years experience working for a wide range of Fortune 500 companies as a hardware and software systems specialist. With his extensive knowledge, he brings a high level of expertise to the company in many aspects of operational processes and technology platforms. Mr. Marinkovich will provide technical support for the computer hardware requirements and the processing phases of this program.

Pat Sheahan (BSc. Geology); is a specialist in the field of geological data compilation and GIS systems. Mrs. Sheahan is a consultant to several senior and junior mining companies, including the University Of British Columbia's Mineral Deposit Research Unit. Mrs. Sheahan will provide extensive data compilation and research for the project.

Jim Walls (BSc. Geology) is a very experienced geologist with more than 10 years field experience in managing hyperspectral mineral exploration programs.

Ekwan-X, Inc. is a mineral exploration company using hyperspectral imaging technology. Ekwan-X will concentrate its resources to fully exploit the highly mineralized areas in Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona. The State of Nevada has been chosen for Ekwan-X's first exploration program due to the prolific gold production and recent huge gold discoveries such as the new Placer Dome discovery in the Cortez Region of Nevada.
