BALTIMORE, Feb. 8, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- View Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VYST), a homeland defense solutions provider, today released the following press release originally appearing in local Florida media.
UNF Students Help With Hi-Tech Security System JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The University of North Florida is working with View Systems, a security company out of Baltimore to test SecureScan, a concealed weapons detector, and to develop new technology that will make events like the Super Bowl safer for everyone. The SecureScan system will be demonstrated at Veterans Memorial Arena for the NFL. This product is able to locate threat objects, such as guns or knives, without hands-on body searching. This system takes a photo of the individual and places a red dot where the concealed weapon is likely to be. SecureScan is perfect for large crowds because five times as many people can get through a SecureScan than a traditional metal detector. Not only is the system very accurate, it also has ability to archive all of the photos, the ability to be operated remotely, and offers the complete safety of a non-contact screening system. This system was funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, and developed by the Department of Energy, and View Systems has the development license for the system. The University of North Florida has a contract to help design new hardware for this system. UNF faculty and students are working with company officials this week to improve the detector.
