Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania Appoints New Marketing & Communications Director


PHILADELPHIA, May 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP) has appointed Samuel W. Pressley to the position of Director, Marketing & Communications. Pressley brings more than 20 years of public relations and marketing experience to this position and will develop and execute strategic marketing plans and materials for the organization, as well as its individual program initiatives.

Rosenthal, President and CEO of the innovative economic development organization headquartered in Philadelphia, said. "He should contribute greatly to our proactive plans to publicize our efforts to address the technology development needs of the Southeastern portion of Pennsylvania."

Pressley joins the BFTP/SEP team from Lincoln University, located in Lincoln University, PA, where for five years he directed all marketing and communications efforts. He has extensive experience and demonstrated success in positioning companies and their corporate brands in the marketplace; coordinating major media campaigns and crisis management; developing advertisements; creating and editing news publications, Web sites and other marketing vehicles.

Prior to his position at Lincoln, Pressley served as senior marketing communications consultant and earlier as communications director for Kenneth Biddick & Company, an entrepreneurial firm of certified public accountants based in South Jersey. He also worked as communications specialist and editorial consultant for Public Electric & Gas Co. (PSEG) Nuclear Operations. He served as communications manager and contractor for the Philadelphia Northeastern Regional Office of Fannie Mae, the nation's largest provider of funding for the home mortgage industry. Pressley began his professional career as an award-winning news reporter and higher education writer at the former Philadelphia Bulletin.

Throughout his career, Pressley has received numerous accolades and awards, including the Pepperpot Achievement Award for Excellence in Marketing from the Public Relations Society of America, Philadelphia Chapter. In January 2005, Lincoln was recognized by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), District II, for the special events marketing of the university's 150th anniversary celebration in 2003-2004.

Pressley is a Master of Science degree candidate in Organizational Development and Leadership at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and communications at Temple University.
