JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Tens of thousands of consumers will pay tribute to American soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day weekend by sending heartfelt words of encouragement to troops on the front lines. Shoppers can pick up free, pre-addressed postcards at any Winn-Dixie store to send their best wishes to our American heroes.
Beginning Saturday, May 28, these patriotic postcards will be available at every Winn-Dixie throughout the Southeast, while supplies last. The "Connecting With Our Soldiers" program provides shoppers and their families an easy way to actively observe the Memorial Day holiday. The free postcards need only to be inscribed with a message of encouragement and support, affixed with postage and dropped in the mail. The postcards will ultimately be sent to our deployed troops.

Through the past year, more than 100,000 postcards have been sent to troops in harm's way as part of the "Connecting With Our Soldiers" program, created and implemented with vendors by Mass Connections.
