C-guys and TradeWind Technologies Expand SDIO Product Offerings to Include Palm Devices

By Using C-guys' CG-100 SDIO Application Interface Controller, TradeWind Increases The Number of Palm Devices Compatible With Its SDIO RFID Technology

The Relationship Furthers C-guys' Presence in the Handheld Market
and Establishes the Company as a Leading Provider of SDIO
 Solutions in the U.S. Market

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 8, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- C-guys, Inc., a global leader in the design and development of SD and SDIO solutions for home, SOHO and SMB applications and TradeWind Technologies, LLC today announced they are building upon their relationship to include SDIO RFID technology for Palm devices. TradeWind uses CG-100 SDIO technology by C-guys to increase the number of Palm devices its RFID cards will work with.

RFID will soon replace bar codes on consumer and manufacturing goods and allows users to track shipments, take temperature readings and read any other information stored on the tag. The solution will allow Palm users to take advantage of RFID technology. C-guys' CG-100 technology enables these users to obtain information from the tag more quickly than with previous solutions.

"TradeWind has proved its RFID technology is superior in the market place, and we are happy to continue working with them on its technology for Palm devices," stated Keith Hirayama, CEO of C-guys. "We strive to provide innovative, forward-thinking solutions that meet if not exceed the market demand. Because Palm handheld devices are so broadly used, we are able to expand our market share while offering a best-of-breed solution."

"C-guys definitely leads the pack in providing next-generation SDIO technology," stated Doug Yeager, CEO of TradeWind. "Its CG-100 provides significant performance increase, which in turn increases the number of Palm devices our RFID technology works with. Together we are offering a complete, high-performance solution that will increase our customers' productivity and sequentially, their customers' satisfaction."

The CG-100 is the flagship SDIO application interface controller developed by C-guys. It is a single-chip semiconductor supporting multiple interfaces using a single SD bus. The product provides the ideal design and development environment for creating SDIO related applications such as wireless, GPS, memory, etc. The CG-100 was designed and has been proven to significantly reduce product development time and cost. The solution also supports UART, PCMCIA and memory.

The TradeWind patent pending SDIO RFID card enables many handheld devices to read or write standard and proprietary RFID 13.56Mhz tags and labels. The reader fits into any standard SD/SDIO slot and extends outside the slot for a small external footprint of 28mm x 28mm. The reader also has a low 11mm profile and a read range of 7cm.

The C-guys RFID SDIO card development kit for Palm will be available now at an MSRP of $999. For more information on C-guys and its products, please visit the company web site at http://www.c-guysusa.com.
