AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, July 5, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wolters Kluwer, a leading multinational publisher and information services company, announces today the nomination of Leonard P. Forman for appointment to its Supervisory Board. Mr. Forman, Executive Vice President and CFO of The New York Times Company, will be nominated for appointment as member of the Supervisory Board of Wolters Kluwer at an Extraordinary Meeting of Shareholders on August 15, 2005 (2:00 p.m.), at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam.
Mr. Forman (American, 1945), has over 30 years of experience in media and publishing, providing additional expertise and strength to Wolters Kluwer's Supervisory Board. His portfolio as CFO at The New York Times Company includes managing all corporate financial functions, overseeing investor relations, acquisitions and divestments, and capital expenditure. As Executive Vice President, Mr. Forman also carries responsibility for the management of information technology, corporate communications, and strategic planning. Previously, Mr. Forman was President and CEO of The New York Times Company Magazine Group and Senior Vice President of corporate development, new ventures, and electronic businesses. Prior to his tenure at The New York Times, Mr. Forman spent 10 years working in television, online services, print media, and advertising.
Mr. Forman received a BA in economics from Queens College, City University of New York in 1967 and completed a PhD dissertation in economics at New York University in 1975.
