The City and County of San Francisco Chooses Clickmarks for Windows to Web Integration

Winmate Utilization Provides Unparalleled Windows to Web Solutions

LOS GATOS, Calif., Sept. 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Clickmarks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Semotus Solutions (AMEX:DLK) announced today that the City and County of San Francisco joined its growing list of customers by utilizing its Winmate solution for rapid Windows to Web integration of key applications. Winmate allows companies to quickly and non-invasively web-enable Client-Server and Legacy applications. Backend legacy applications that were previously restricted to desktops can now be accessed via web, portal and mobile channels.

The Clickmarks Winmate solution extends windows and client server applications to the web by acting as the interface between windows and web applications. Using patented Presentation Level Integration (PLI) technology, Winmate enables developers to automate interactions with the original application's user interface. This process dramatically reduces development time, eliminates the need to access an application's source code or database, and does not require domain specific expertise.

With Winmate, the City and County of San Francisco were able to non-invasively integrate an internal Cold Fusion-based Web application called AIMS with a state-wide PowerBuilder-based Windows application called CalWIN. State regulations require the City to enter an applicant's benefit information into CalWIN in order to qualify for state funds. The City also needs to enter the same information into AIMS for internal record keeping purposes. Winmate was utilized to provide seamless integration between the two applications -- without accessing CalWIN's source code or data. By automating this business process, City employees no longer need to enter the same data twice, thus saving time associated with data entry and reducing the possibility of errors.

"The City and County of San Francisco joins our growing roster or government customers, including the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Navy," said Umair Khan, President of Clickmarks, a Semotus company. "It provides great validation for our Winmate solution that allows companies to re-use instead of rip-and-replace legacy systems. Transforming existing non-Web systems into web, portal, or mobile applications or into web services is a vital need across the corporate world. Clickmarks has proven that it fulfills this need perfectly. It was gratifying to work with the City, and help them to save time and money for the valuable services they are providing to our local communities."

"Clickmarks continues to expand its customer base by delivering high-value information access and business process automation solutions to the enterprise," said Anthony LaPine, Semotus Solutions CEO. "The City and County of San Francisco win is an excellent illustration of how Clickmarks helps organizations enable web access and integration into Legacy systems and applications. Clickmarks compliments our Wireless Enterprise offerings by web-enabling applications for complete end-to-end solutions from a single vendor. Semotus anticipates a significant revenue contribution from Clickmarks in current quarter."
