CORONA, Calif., Sept. 8, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nationwide Beverage Bottling Corporation (Pink Sheets:NBVB) announced today that it has received an additional order for bottled water in support of Hurricane Katrina victim relief efforts.
One week after it received an order from FEMA for 80 truckloads holding 375,000 gallons of bottled water for victims of Hurricane Katrina being sheltered by the Red Cross in the Astrodome in Houston, Texas, the Company has received an additional order for 65 more truckloads of purified water bottles.
Steve Rice, President and CEO of Nationwide, stated, "Immediately after receiving the initial order from FEMA, we put in place a third production shift to allow us to operate around the clock. As a result of this new order for approximately 300,000 gallons of our 1/2 gallon and 1-gallon purified water products, we are now devoting one entire 8-hour production shift to aid in the relief efforts." Mr. Rice added, "Like all Americans, we at Nationwide are deeply concerned about the well being of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. As a former resident of Louisiana, I have a personal connection to this disaster and want our Company to do everything in our power to help them. Hopefully, the dedication of one-third of our current production capacity will provide meaningful assistance to the efforts of the Red Cross and other relief agencies."
