NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- PubSub, the essential prospective search tool for tracking what people are saying about the topics they care about, today announced an agreement with Forbes.com to provide PubSub users with direct access to Forbes.com RSS content.
The PubSub website, www.pubsub.com, will feature a unique Forbes.com page where users can create their own, customized searches for content from Forbes.com RSS. Users can also access PubSub from a link on the RSS page of Forbes.com, as well as the Forbes.com Search Results page.
In addition to offering customized searches for Forbes.com RSS content, PubSub also allows users to create customized searches from Forbes.com feeds. Forbes.com currently offers RSS in XML format for much of its content areas.
"PubSub will enable users to more easily and quickly find the Forbes.com RSS content they need to make real-time business decisions," said Michael Smith, General Manager, Forbes.com. "PubSub's service will benefit the Forbes.com audience who need up-to-the-minute news and information for both growing their own businesses and keeping track of the competition."
PubSub's prospective search technology instantly notifies users as soon as the search terms they have subscribed to are mentioned. PubSub constantly monitors blogs and syndicated Web sites for matches to users' subscriptions and delivers results in real time. Results are delivered as an RSS or Atom feed into a news aggregator or read on the Web. Alternatively, PubSub provides a browser sidebar that pushes updates as they occur, eliminating the need to hit the refresh button to get up-to-date results.
"This joint effort with Forbes.com will increase awareness of PubSub's prospective search technology, while giving existing Forbes.com users improved access to that site's RSS content," said Bob Wyman, CTO and co-founder of PubSub Concepts, Inc.
