ATLANTA, Oct. 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) today announced the election of Domenico De Sole to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

De Sole, 61, served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gucci Group, N.V., and Chairman of the Group's Management Board from 1995 to 2004, where he played a leading role in reestablishing the exclusivity and profitability of the Gucci brand. He joined Gucci in 1984 as Chief Executive Officer of Gucci America and in 1994 became Chief Operating Officer of Gucci Group. Prior to joining Gucci, De Sole was a partner with the law firm Patton, Boggs L.L.P.
De Sole is a graduate of the University of Rome with a Law degree and earned a Master's Degree from Harvard Law School.
De Sole serves on the Board of Directors of Bausch & Lomb, Incorporated, The Gap, Inc., TelecomItalia S.p.A. and is a member of the Harvard Law School Advisory Board.
