Former Teacher Turned Entrepreneur to Open Marco's Pizza in Leo, Ind. on Oct. 14, 2005


LEO, Ind., Oct. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Lisa Meyer Render, a former Fort Wayne high school teacher and native of Leo, will make her debut as a pizza entrepreneur as she opens her Marco's Pizza store in October, located at 15007 State Road One here near Fort Wayne.

The new 2,300 square feet facility features the recently-unveiled Marco Pizza "Ah-thentic Italian Pizza" motif, offering customers sit-down dining for 17, carryout and delivery service. The menu includes the custom-made "Ah-thentic" Italian Marco's Pizza, fresh baked subs, chicken wings, salads and soft drinks.

Mike Bentley of Fort Wayne has been appointed manager and will lead a crew of 15 employees in the seven day a week operation that includes Sundays, 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to Midnight.

Meyer Render, a graduate of Indiana University, taught English and Journalism at Carroll High School in Fort Wayne before signing a franchise agreement with Marco's Pizza.

Founded 27-years ago by Pasquale "Pat" Giammarco, a native of Italy, who sold the franchise rights last year to development expert Jack Butorac, Jr., Marco's Pizza today has 143 stores in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada and Arizona. Giammarco remains with the company in concept development and as a store owner.
