JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Nov. 25, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Implats) (Pink Sheets:IMPUY) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shadwick Bessit as an executive director to the Implats' board with immediate effect. Mr Bessit is currently Operations Executive at the Rustenburg operations of Impala Platinum, Implats' major operating arm.
Mr Bessit, who has had more than 17 years of experience in the industry, began his mining career at the then-Anglo American's Vaal Reefs mine. In 2002, he joined Implats as a general manager at Impala. He was appointed Operations Executive in June 2005.
Mr Bessit brings to the board his extensive experience and expertise in mining. With this appointment, the number of executive directors on the board totals five, with one non-executive director and six independent non-executive directors.
