Long Time Vegas Resident to Open Marco's Pizza in Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 31, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Steve Sholy, a longtime Vegas resident, opened a Marco's Pizza Store at 6430 W. Lake Mead Road, on the city's west side this past weekend. Marco's Pizza, a Toledo, OH 27-year-old chain, entered the Vegas market last year and the new site marks the fourth store in the Las Vegas Area.

Jack Butorac, Jr., president of Marco's Franchising, LLC, the franchising arm for Marco's Pizza, announced the agreement. Butorac acquired the franchising rights to Marco's in 2004 from its founder Pasquale "Pat" Giammarco who remains with the organization in charge of concept development and the owner of stores in northwest Ohio.

Sholy, who served with On Demand Sedan in Vegas prior to becoming a Marco's franchisee, also was a franchisee with Country Kitchen, a Midwest based family restaurant chain. He is a native of Minnesota and a graduate of North Dakota State University.

Sholy plans to hire 20-25 employees for the new Marco's Pizza store, which will offer customers seven day a week delivery and pick up service and a menu of custom-made pizzas, fresh-baked subs, salads, chicken wings and soft drinks.

Butorac, who put Marco's on an aggressive growth plan, said the company opened 23 stores last year, a record for the company. He plans to open 500 units by 2010. There are Marco's Pizza stores in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada and Phoenix.
