MANDEVILLE, La., April 10, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Crosspoint Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CPGP) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Public Gas Company, has entered into an agreement to acquire Southeast Transmission & Compression Co. Inc., pending legal due diligence and financing. Southeast Transmission & Compression Co. is based out of Quinton, Oklahoma, in the heart of the Arkoma Basin.
The Arkoma Basin is the largest and most active area for natural gas drilling within central United States. A twenty year-old, well established business, Southeast Transmission & Compression Co. primarily has a fleet of online Ajax Compressors to make up the Natural Gas Booster Station. The company also is a compressor sales distributor and service of Ajax Natural Gas Compressors within the southeast region of Oklahoma. This is one of only two booster station in the area that can move the volume of natural gas from the immediate gathering lines to the high pressure Oneok Pipeline to the hub market. This booster station operates continuously with over 12 field compressors on the gathering systems and four compressors serving the Hub Market. There is a total of 11,000 horsepower, with an average throughput of 13-15 million cubic feet per day coming from a production of over 300 natural gas wells.
At its peak business, the station delivered gas through Centerpoint, Enogex and Oneok from Ft. Smith, Arkansas to McAlester, Oklahoma. Now there are approximately 20 Chesapeake Operators that provide up to 60 percent of the total gas production for the station, including an additional 40 percent of the gas production from independent operators.
Michael Reis, CFO of Public Gas Company, stated, "Due to the increase in gas usage, Natural Gas is at a premium. This purchase places our company strategically within the most active natural gas production area in Oklahoma, reaching millions of consumers through the local and long range pipelines. Additionally, we can run natural gas drilling operations, our local natural gas utility operations, and now compressor operations out of this center local office in Oklahoma."
Donald "Rex" Gay, president of Crosspoint Group, Inc., stated, "This acquisition continues our interest in developing a vertically integrated company in diverse areas of energy related business. Such as acreage acquisition, reworking and drilling of new wells, complementary energy companies and transmission. If the financial and technical reviews go well, this acquisition should close within 45 days."
