SARASOTA, Fla., May 1, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Today Pipeline Restoration Technologies announces the restoration of St. Petersburg's Admiral Farragut Academy's aged plumbing system, rejuvenating the 85-year-old, 400-student Naval Academy's copper and galvanized pipes using the ACE DuraFlo ePIPE(tm) process.
"The cadets' safety is our number one priority above all else and ACE DuraFlo's epoxy lined piping solution for pinhole leaks and pipe restoration exceeded our health and safety concerns," Randy Pike, spokesman for the Admiral Farragut Academy says. "Pipeline Restoration Technologies was exceptionally courteous and professional and did not disrupt our school's curriculum and activities even though the restoration took place with school in session."
Founded in 1945, the Admiral Farragut Academy is a co-educational, boarding and day college-preparatory military school with full Naval Junior ROTC status for grades 9-12. Classes are held year-round. The Academy's education curriculum begins with kindergarten, and students in grades 6-12 have the option of boarding at the school for five or seven days a week.
"The project consisted of the complete restoration of the water supply mains, risers and branch lines for the atrium style, 90-room facility," said Mike Propsom, Pipeline Restoration Technologies President, adding, "The project took approximately four months to complete. Using ACE DuraFlo's ePIPE, the academy was fully functional and completely safe throughout the process."
According to company officials, the ACE DuraFlo ePIPE process cleans the inside of the existing water piping system and seals the pipes with a healthy, non-toxic NSF/ANSI 61 Certified epoxy barrier coating making the pipes leak-proof and corrosion free.
"We are extremely pleased with Pipeline Restoration's workmanship and the speed with which they completed the job," Pike says. "Our plumbing works great and we won't be worrying about leaks anymore!"
About ACE DuraFlo and ePIPE(tm)
ACE DuraFlo's unique "in-place" pipe restoration technology restores failing copper and encrusted galvanized piping systems, generally without the extensive demolition that accompanies a traditional plumbing repipe. The process involves air-drying of the pipes, burst sanding and the application of an epoxy barrier coating resulting in a restored epoxy lined plumbing system called ePIPE(tm). ACE DuraFlo offers a complete solution for pinhole leaks and corrosion control for both commercial and residential plumbing systems.
