NEW YORK, May 31, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Monster Sushi, a successful and well-known sushi restaurant with three locations in Manhattan and one in Summit, New Jersey, announced today the company will extend its successful brand by selling franchises across the United States. This weekend, Monster Sushi executives will be attending the International Franchise Expo in Washington, D.C. from June 2-4 at booth No. 139 to explain the company's franchise opportunity. Samples of sushi and sake, as well as traditional Japanese dancing, will be provided.
Since the 1990s, according to the National Restaurant Association, sushi consumption has increased more than 40% and is reportedly the fastest-growing franchise opportunity in the casual dining segment. Sushi's explosive growth in popularity can be attributed to the population's interest in becoming more health conscious and as well as the increased emergence of Asian culture into the American sensibility.
"With a respected brand and proven operating results, Monster Sushi is franchising its successful concept across the country, offering partners the chance to leverage the fastest-growing market segment in the $511 billion restaurant industry," said Carl Waltzer, CEO Monster Sushi Franchises. "We are delighted to offer franchises and look forward to offering our franchise partners a turn-key solution so that they can enjoy the same success we have for nearly a decade."
Monster Sushi has established and operated successful sushi restaurants in New York and New Jersey. Founded by Carl Waltzer and Master Chef On Le in 1997, the first unit was opened in Manhattan and quickly became known for its unique American twists on traditional Japanese cuisines, fresh quality and mouth-watering size portions.
Monster Sushi's menu includes a range of Japanese delights including sushi, sashimi, as well as traditionally prepared cooked foods that appeal to a broad range of customers, tastes and ages. Some of Monster Sushi's top-selling items include the "Monster roll" and the "Dragon roll" as well as specialty entrees including "The Monster Takes Over America" -- a combination of the New York roll, Boston roll and Philadelphia roll. Monster Sushi has also become well-known for its selection of specialty drinks including the "Monstertini" and the "Monster Royale".
