ZTE and Bitfone Partner to Deliver an Enhanced Mobile Experience

Bitfone's OMA DM 1.2 Solution Selected by China's Largest Listed Domestic Telecom Supplier

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., July 10, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Bitfone Corporation (www.bitfone.com), a pioneer and a patent holder of firmware over-the-air (FOTA) update technology for mobile phones, today announced that ZTE Corporation, China's largest listed domestic telecom equipment supplier and the fastest growing global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has selected Bitfone's Device Management Client Suite to fulfill its device requirements from domestic operators, such as China Mobile, and operators worldwide.

The suite is comprised of Bitfone's award-winning and patented mProve(tm) and MVA(tm) solutions. The device management suite enables users of ZTE's mobile devices to download software and firmware updates, perform self-diagnosis of the device to identify problems and configure device settings over-the-air. The solution also offers a self registration feature that feeds real-time information upon activation, enabling ZTE to receive valuable sales statistics and channel insight in real-time. The solution leverages the latest version of the standards-based communications protocol (OMA DM) to enable the functionality and gives ZTE a solid foundation to provide new features and services.

"Bitfone's technology significantly enhances the mobile experience and simplifies the complex nature of new mobile devices and their features and services," said Xueyi Weng, Chief Engineer of UMTS Handsets, at ZTE Corporation. "In addition to supporting operator requirements the device management suite provides valuable insight into our distribution channels to assist our marketing and sales efforts."

"As the leading global telecommunications equipment provider, ZTE is at the forefront of enabling technologies that enhance the mobile value chain and provide a superior customer experience," said Frank Fu, Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific. "ZTE represents the fifth Chinese OEM that Bitfone has announced in the past year solidifying our leadership position in this large and rapidly expanding market."

In addition, Bitfone's MVA has successfully completed interoperability testing of the OMA DM 1.2 specification with more than ten third party systems at the most recent Open Mobile Alliance TestFest in Ireland.
