Wavestream Corporation Appoints New Executive Vice President of Engineering and Technology

Industry Veteran, Francis S. Auricchio, Jr., Expands Wavestream Management Team Adding More Than 24 Years of Engineering Expertise

SAN DIMAS, Calif., Aug. 28, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wavestream (www.wavestream.com), a manufacturer of a new generation of compact high-efficiency solid-state power amplifiers (SSPA), today announced the addition of Francis S. Auricchio, Jr. as executive vice president of engineering and technology. Auricchio will manage and oversee Wavestream's engineering and technology operations.

"We are pleased to welcome Fran Auricchio to lead our engineering team," said Chris Branscum, chairman and CEO of Wavestream. "Fran's impressive and extensive experience in designing and manufacturing power amplifiers will enhance our technology innovation and the growth of our business."

"Wavestream has established itself as the leader in compact high-efficiency high-power solid-state amplifiers," said Auricchio. "My experience managing many power amplifier development teams will augment future evolutions of Wavestream's high quality product lines and services."

Auricchio has more than 24 years of experience at Boeing Satellite Systems where he focused on design, development and production of sold-state power amplifiers (SSPA) and low noise amplifiers (LNA). He held several management positions with Boeing, responsible for the management of major external development efforts and internal research and development activities including resource allocation, risk assessment, investigation and evaluation of new devices and the development of microwave and millimeter wave amplifiers.

In addition to his management status, while at Boeing, Auricchio was key in developing MMIC devices for the Spaceway(tm) satellite program and power FETs for the SSPA product line. Most recently, Auricchio participated as a senior scientist leading an integrated product team at Boeing, developing optical high power amplifiers. He has applied for three U.S. patents in the area of high-power optics.
