The CFA Society of Cleveland Opens 2006-2007 Programming Year With Presentation by Dr. Ken Mayland, President of ClearView Economics, LLC


The CFA Society of Cleveland (CFASC) will open its 2006-2007 programming year on Wednesday, September 13 with a luncheon held at 12:00 p.m. at Sammy's Metropolitan Ballroom (21st floor of The Huntington Building, East Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue). The luncheon will feature a presentation titled, "The Economic Outlook: Top of the 5th Inning OR Bottom of the 9th?" from Dr. Ken Mayland, president of Pepper Pike, Ohio-based ClearView Economics, LLC. Dr. Mayland will also share some of his thoughts on the upcoming November elections and where investors should be allocating their assets. Reservations are required and may be made by contacting the CFASC at 216-696-8066 or via e-mail at cfasc@mjmservices.org. The luncheon is free of charge to CFASC members. Non-members may attend for a fee of $20.

About Dr. Ken Mayland

Dr. Ken Mayland is president of ClearView Economics, LLC, a firm specializing in economic research and forecasting. Dr. Mayland was previously the chief economist of First Pennsylvania Bank and KeyCorp. Graduating with degrees in economics from MIT (B.S.) and the University of Pennsylvania (M.A. and Ph.D.), he has spent more than thirty years studying the business cycle and providing economic analyses to a variety of constituencies. Dr. Mayland is a member of the Blue Chip Economic Forecasters and Financial Forecasts survey panels, and several wire service and newspaper survey panels. He has been a past member of the Economic Advisory Committee for the State of Ohio under various governors, and he has held several leadership positions with the National Association for Business Economics.
