Albuquerque Studios Finalizes Deal With NES Rentals

ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 17, 2006 -- Albuquerque Studios, the $74 million film and television back-lot facility currently under construction, and NES Rentals have finalized a multi-year deal for NES to be the exclusive provider of heavy equipment to Albuquerque Studios, opening its doors in early 2007.

NES Rentals Studio Equipment Division, based in Sylmar, CA, is the leading movie equipment rental company in the U.S., with 24 Local 399 teamsters, drivers, mechanics, yard personnel, and a total of 37 employees devoted to the entertainment industry. The company has more employees and resources dedicated to the movie industry than any other equipment rental company in the country. Says Jon Hansen, VP of NES Rentals Studio Equipment Division, "Our entire business is working with movie, television, and commercial production companies. We look forward to being part of New Mexico's growing filmmaking industry."

NES will provide Albuquerque Studios with black-arm booms, scissor lifts, forklifts, light towers, gators, and generators for lighting, set building, and other production needs.

Says Nick Smerigan, VP of Albuquerque Studios, "We are building a brand new, world-class motion picture/television production facility, and we chose to partner with NES because of their expertise and track record in providing production companies with a full spectrum of equipment on a tight schedule. The state of New Mexico has put together probably the best incentive package for film and television producers in the U.S. We believe NES understands what filmmakers want, and we're proud to bring their services and equipment to New Mexico."

Work began in August 2006 on Albuquerque Studios, a $74 million, 28-acre Hollywood-style film and TV studio. Pacifica Ventures will manage Albuquerque Studios, consisting of eight sound stages, office space, back-lot space, mill storage, set-construction space, and post-production suites, with 450,000 square feet of indoor space. Designed to enhance New Mexico's growing film and TV industry, Albuquerque Studios is slated for phase one completion in spring 2007, with the first two soundstages opening in January. Since 2003 when Governor Bill Richardson took office, over 50 major productions have been shot in New Mexico, generating more than $650 million in production revenues.
