2007 Commodity Classic Offers Something for Everyone -- Business Resources, Entertainment and Fun in the Sun

Feb. 14, 2007: Countdown to Classic -- 15 Days Until Commodity Classic

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 14, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Corn, soybean and wheat growers who attend "Bounty on the Bay," the 11th annual Commodity Classic, March 1-3, in Tampa, Fla., are sure to find a "boatload of treasures" awaiting them. In addition to valuable seminars and resources that can help increase profitability and productivity on the farm, participants will have a chance to network with fellow mateys and enjoy an "Evening of Entertainment" with country music star Collin Raye.

Commodity Classic is the combined convention and trade show of the American Soybean Association (ASA), the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG).

U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab will deliver the keynote address at the General Session, sponsored by Dow AgroSciences, on March 2. Tom Tevlin, president and CEO of Greenspirit Strategies, will discuss ways growers can defend agriculture, and former Operation Iraqi Freedom prisoner of war Ron Young will share his personal story of dedication, courage and inspiration.

Commodity Classic features Early Riser Marketing Sessions, Learning Center Sessions and "What Is New" sessions to give growers the opportunity to learn about new trends and products. For a complete list of educational sessions, visit www.commodityclassic.com.

"Farmers from around the country will come together with key decision-makers and experts in the agricultural industry for three days of educational programs focused on hot topics such as marketing, trade, biofuels, the environment, transportation and the 2007 farm bill," said NCGA President Ken McCauley.

The trade show features more than 197 exhibitors and more than 675 booths.

NAWG President Dale Schuler said, "The trade show gives farmers a first-hand look at cutting-edge products and services that can help make growers more productive. Participation in Commodity Classic is well worth the investment for all growers."

Collin Raye, who has had several number one hits on country music charts, will perform March 3 at the "Evening of Entertainment," sponsored by Monsanto. Raye has been nominated six times as "Male Vocalist of the Year" by the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music.

"All music fans are sure to enjoy Collin's soulful concert and a fun evening out with fellow growers," said ASA President Rick Ostlie. "Networking is one of best educational tools out there. It's a way to build bridges and learn from others' experiences about what works and what doesn't in farm operations."
