We Must Never Forget Our Ancestors -- New Book Looks Back At the Historical Events of Europe and the Eventual Emigration to America

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C., Feb. 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- History is essential. It is a record of not only events that happened long ago but it also keeps track of our heritage as people. A dramatic look back at America's British ancestors is set to begin as Xlibris announces the release of Our British Heritage -- Volume I: Fight for Independence and Freedom, the compelling new historical book written by Merlene Hutto Byars.

The text looks back at the events of 1200-1337 when the British Isles were in crisis due of the decline of the Roman Empire. It shows in deep detail their fight for independence freedom. At the same time, the book tells the story of the people who were compelled to abandon their motherland in the face of tyranny and for religious reasons. What followed was a long journey from Europe to America which greatly tested their will, their beliefs and their convictions. Ultimately, the emigration to America was based on a complex, multi-factorial and pleury-faceted inter-relationship between peoples of different ethnicity, and religious convictions, beginning long before 1292 when King Edward I of England tried to gain control of Scotland.
