HERNDON, Va., Feb. 28, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Small and medium businesses that outsource their online services to hosting providers will now be able to easily add support for mobile email including BlackBerry and Good technologies. A new version of PEM from SWsoft, a leading data center automation solution for service providers, enables hosting companies of all sizes to cost effectively offer services previously provided by large telecom carriers.
The integrated PEM solution automates the provisioning, billing and monitoring of BlackBerry Enterprise Servers (BES) and Good Mobile Messaging Servers. By linking hosted Exchange with mobile email servers, PEM allows smaller hosting companies to cost effectively offer these services.
"By integrating technology that supports the most popular mobile devices available, PEM makes it easy for hosters to include BlackBerry and Good support in their service plans," said Serguei Beloussov, chief executive officer, SWsoft. "PEM's integrated wireless support will enable providers to offer businesses of any size an affordable, carrier-class automation and billing solution with the Hosted Exchange platform. It is a great example of our OPEN FUSION initiative at work -- driving real benefits for both hosting providers and their customers."
After installation of the PEM solution by a service provider, customers will be able to order mobile email services from an online store or add it to an existing service plan. For small- and medium-sized businesses, the solution provides a less expensive alternative to using wireless carriers, which require the end user to buy and host Exchange.
"With PEM's integrated services for BlackBerry and Good Mobile Messaging, we can offer our customers reliable access to email anywhere, anytime from any mobile device at a reasonable cost," said David Grantz, chief information officer, Exchange My Mail. "PEM's web-based customer control panel provides a simple interface that allows our wireless customers to easily manage their own accounts."
Key features added to the PEM Solution for Hosted Exchange include:
- Account Activation-- PEM allows end-user administrators to activate individual mailboxes and send the over-the-air PIN or the activation email to the customer's mobile device.
- Mobile Device Wiping -- PEM allows email administrators to remotely "wipe" a mobile device so that sensitive data cannot be retrieved from a lost or stolen mobile device.
- Re-generate Activation Email -- PEM allows end-user administrators to re-send an activation message in case the mobile device owner forgets his password/PIN or obtains a new mobile device.
- Account Management -- PEM coordinates accounts across billing servers, Exchange servers and mobile messaging servers to eliminate manual order processing.
SWsoft PEM is a customizable data center automation solution that allows service providers to more efficiently manage their infrastructure. With PEM's modular design and flexible architecture, a system can expand to include new services and scale to several millions of customers.
OPEN FUSION is a SWsoft technology initiative to move its entire line of products to a common platform to advance integration among a wide range of systems, third-party applications and modules, and custom and in-house solutions.
