SYDNEY, Australia, June 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Reliv International, Inc. (Nasdaq:RELV), a maker of proprietary nutritional supplements, has appointed Bob Owen, an expert in complementary health care and nutrition, to its Scientific Advisory Board.
Owen, 67, is managing director of Mindwake Enterprises Pty. Ltd., a consulting firm specializing in analytical chemistry and health care sciences.

As a member of Reliv's Scientific Advisory Board, Owen will review potential new ingredients, evaluate new products and provide recommendations to support Reliv's research, Hastings said.
Owen has more than 40 years of managerial experience in research and development, quality control, regulatory and technical issues in the pharmaceutical and nutrition industries in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and the United Kingdom. He has worked with global companies including Pfizer, Bristol Myers/Mead Johnson and others.
He is a Scientific Advisor to the Complementary Healthcare Council of Australia. Owen earned a Master of Science degree from London University, and he is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. In addition, Owen is a Chartered Chemist (C. Chem.) and a Chartered Scientist (C. Sci.) of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Owen's background complements the expertise of other members of Reliv's Scientific Advisory Board, including Dr. Linda Bivins and Dr. Stephen Pfeifer, board certified family physicians, and Dr. Clare M. Hasler, an internationally recognized expert in the areas of functional foods and nutraceuticals. She is founding executive director of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science at the University of California, Davis.
