Broadcom, Conexant and BroadLight Upgrade to MoCA's New Contributor Class

SAN RAMON, Calif., June 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq:BRCM), Conexant Systems, Inc., (Nasdaq:CNXT) and BroadLight, Inc. are the first three companies to join MoCA(tm)'s new contributor class, introduced last month. All three have been associate members for more than a year.

In their new role as contributors, all three companies will actively participate in the formation and direction of new specifications. Every contributor level member also has voting rights and can partake in all MoCA work groups from technical and specification to marketing.

"Contribution to the MoCA standard, and the evolution of the alliance in general, complements our already strong position among service providers and OEMs in the digital home," said Dan Marotta, senior vice president and general manager of Broadcom's Broadband Communications Group.

"Conexant is pleased to support the MoCA standard promoting distribution of digital video entertainment and networking through broadband mediums including coax cabling in the home," said Lewis Brewster, senior vice president and general manager of Conexant's Broadband Media Processing business.

"We are a big supporter of standards-based activities and have played active roles in the development of ITU-T PON standards," said Eli Weitz, BroadLight CTO. "We look forward to making valuable contributions to the MoCA standard."

"All three companies are leaders in the digital home connectivity space and we are excited to have them participate as contributors to MoCA," said Dr. Anton Monk, MoCA CTO and chair of the specification work group.
