K&L Gates Deploys LGC's In-Building Wireless System to Ensure Coverage for BlackBerry and Voice Users

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - July 9, 2007) - LGC
Wireless, the leader in specialized wireless coverage and capacity
solutions, today announced that K&L Gates, a corporate law firm
representing Fortune 100 clients, has deployed LGC's InterReach® Unison in-building wireless system to ensure
clear and consistent service for BlackBerry and other cellular services
users in its new Washington, D.C. offices. As recommended and designed by
telecommunications consultants The Glasgow Group, the Unison system
delivers high-performance voice and data services for T-Mobile and Verizon
users in over 200,000 square feet of office space, including a law library
and administrative offices in the third sub-basement.
In-building cellular coverage is challenging in Washington, D.C. due to the
density of high-security government buildings. When K&L Gates occupied new
space at 16th and K Streets, it knew that it would need an in-building
cellular system for its below-ground offices as well as its eleven floors
of above-ground space. "We knew going in that we would need to support our
BlackBerry and voice service users, so we planned for deployment during the
building's construction," said Rodney Carson, Director of Administration
for K&L Gates' Washington D.C. office. "Glasgow Group did a site survey,
conducted a competitive procurement process, and recommended LGC Wireless.
LGC deployed an outstanding system that has worked flawlessly in every part
of our building."
The Unison system provides coverage for T-Mobile users with BlackBerry 7290
devices as well as for users of Verizon's services. The active, hub-based
architecture of the Unison system uses standard Ethernet cabling to link
remote antennas, so it guarantees uniformly high power output at every
antenna and reduces the cost of deployment. "We chose the Unison system
over others because it had clear advantages in deployment speed and cost,"
said Richard Glasgow, CEO of the Glasgow Group. "LGC delivered the system
we specified on time and on budget, making it easy for us to exceed our
client's expectations."
LGC Wireless has provided in-building wireless coverage for thousands of
commercial office buildings for clients like K&L Gates. "Independent
communications consultants like the Glasgow Group are an increasingly
important part of our growth," said John Spindler, vice president of
marketing for LGC Wireless. "As shown with the K&L Gates project, we enable
consultants like Glasgow Group to eliminate wireless coverage issues in any
indoor space with minimal cost and disruption."
