National Corn Growers Association Launches New Blog

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 6, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) has launched a new blog to focus attention on key issues about corn and corn growers.

The blog -- "Corn Commentary" at corncommentary.com -- provides an informal and interactive perspective, according to NCGA President Ken McCauley.

"NCGA created this blog to provide a lighter, more personalized look at corn, agriculture and the events of the day that affect the nation's corn producers," McCauley explained. "It's meant to be interactive, like a discussion with good friends in the coffee shop."

Current topics explored on Corn Commentary include a lighthearted look at a Hollywood production to promote E85, a serious discussion of meat prices and a visual demonstration of the price of movie popcorn. NCGA invites corn growers and others interested in the issues that affect them to join the blog at http://corncommentary.com and comment on any of the topics.

"We certainly want corn growers to have some fun with this," McCauley said. "There's more than one way to discuss a serious issue. I hope everyone checks out the blog, and if they see something they'd like to comment on, don't be shy."

The National Corn Growers Association's mission is to create and increase opportunities for corn growers. NCGA represents nearly 33,000 members, 46 affiliated state organizations and hundreds of thousands of growers who contribute to state checkoff programs.
