POMPANO BEACH, Fla., Aug. 21, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Cyclone Power Technologies (Pink Sheets:CYPW) announced today that it successfully ran its Green Revolution Engine(tm) on three Ethanol alternative fuels derived from corn.
The Ethanol variations tested in the Cyclone engine were: 100% Ethanol, with a BTU level of 76,100 per gallon; E-85, with a BTU level of 81,800 per gallon; and E-10, with the highest BTU level of 100,700 per gallon. All three alternative fuels produced sufficient energy to run Cyclone's high-performance, external combustion engine. Additionally, all three fuels burned clean and produced no noticeable residue from the fuel injector.
These results mark the company's third test of alternative bio-fuels over the last month. The first two tests involved burning d-Limonene, a fuel made from orange peels, and bio-diesels made from vegetable oils. Despite there being great variations in the chemical compositions and consistency of these fuels, as well as their BTU levels, none of the tests required any modifications to the Cyclone engine or its fuel injector.

According to the American Coalition for Ethanol, approximately 46% of American gasoline contains some Ethanol, most as an E-10 Ethanol blend. E-85 is an alternative fuel for use in flex-fuel vehicles, of which there are currently six million on the American highways. One acre of corn can be processed into 330 gallons of combustible Ethanol. The Federal government provides up to $30,000 in tax credits to gas stations that convert pumps to E-85 Fuel.
